Shiva’s Garden

Kirtan with Shiva’s Garden

Every evening the guests and residents of Shoshoni Yoga Retreat gather in the Main Temple to joyously dance and chant the names of the Divine. They are accompanied by a very special group of musicians known as Shiva’s Garden.

Formed over 17 years ago out of a collective wish to grow spiritually and mutual devotion to their teacher Sri Shambhavananda, the members of Shiva’s Garden perform a variety of musical styles to compliment the chanting of Sanskrit mantras and modern devotional songs. The band members are residents of Sri Shambhavananda’s ashrams, who selflessly offer their gifts as a form of Bhakti (devotional) Yoga.

In addition to their performances at Shoshoni, the band can be heard every Monday night at Eldorado Mountain Yoga Ashram near Boulder and at special events throughout the area. They were the featured artists at the 2004 Yoga Journal Conference in Estes Park. Their music is available on eight full-length albums available for purchase in our online bookstore, and can be heard online at iTunes Radio and Spotify.

The band has evolved over these many years, as former band members have gone on to form their own kirtan bands including The Pushpams and Sangha. Shiva’s Garden continues to offer devotional music from the heart, a blissful celebration of song and spirit.
