About the Instructor

Acharya Dr. Arjun Fontaine, PhD

Dr. Arjun Fontaine is a Research Assistant Professor and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Aurora, Colorado, United States. He completed his Ph.D. at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus with a specialization in Biomechanics. He has also been a meditation practitioner for most of his life, and is an Acharya (senior teacher) in the ShambhavAnanda School of Yoga.

I had the pleasure of attending the “Yoga and the Vagus Nerve” workshop presented by Acharya Dr. Arjun Fontaine, PhD and came home feeling so nourished from both valuable information as well as a better physical understanding of how and why the way we move in yoga helps to strengthen our nervous systems.  Every time I attend a retreat at Shoshoni I feel the effort put forth to make sure that very relevant and current information is infused into the timeless practice of Shambhavananda Yoga.  I come home excited to practice and share the information that I have learned and am excited for the next time I am able to return.  Shoshoni has become a treasured place where I can let go and reset.
