Workshop: Intro to Vedic Astrology

April 4, 2026

Price: $75 plus accommodations when booked with a Yoga Retreat, or $150 as a Day Retreat

Vedic astrology, also known as Jyotish Shastra or Jyotisha, is an ancient Indian system of astrology rooted in the Vedas, the oldest sacred texts of Hinduism. It interprets the influence of celestial bodies — such as planets and stars — on human lives based on their positions at the time of birth. Vedic astrology uses the sidereal zodiac (based on actual star positions) and includes twelve signs, nine planets (Navagrahas), and twenty-seven lunar constellations (Nakshatras). It is widely used in India for making predictions about life events, relationships, careers, and spiritual paths.

In this one-day workshop, you will discuss and explore:

  • the planets (Grahas)
  • the zodiac signs (Rashis)
  • the houses (Bhavas)
  • planetary aspects
  • the Dasha system of cosmic timing
The Shoshoni temple is illuminated under the morning sunrise, providing a tranquil setting to recharge your energy.

The scenery is gorgeous with hiking all around, staff is excellent, the food is delicious, the temples are beautiful, the yoga is great and relaxing, and the cabins are clean and nice. I always feel so peaceful there and the meditation is wonderful. It’s a very spiritual place and wonderful for decompressing from city life and for getting back to your true self.
