This three-week program offers a rare opportunity to spend time at an ashram, combining an extended retreat with the experience of being a resident.  Immerse yourself in nature and the practices of meditation, yoga, and selfless service. Live and practice alongside a group of dedicated resident yogis in a beautiful and secluded mountain setting.

Yoga 101 Workshop

March 28-31

This program is designed for students new to yoga or those returning to yoga after a hiatus. In addition to learning and practicing foundational yoga asanas (poses), students will explore the other seven limbs of yoga, the three jewels of Buddhism, and mantra meditation.  By the end of the weekend, students will feel more comfortable with their own personal practice on the mat, and also with participating in a neighborhood yoga class.

A four-day immersion experience. Learn the foundations of meditation and find new depth in your own practice with the support of a fun, contemplative community. Our goal is to share the profound and practical teachings of our tradition in a way that is meaningful for your life.

Women’s Retreat

Sacred Art Retreat: Painting Buddhas

July 10-July 14 (check-in is July 9)

Learn to draw a Buddha or Tara on canvas using traditional eastern thankgha-painting techniques. Accomplished artist Faith Stone will guide you through the process, teaching these techniques in an easily digestible way and helping to bring your Buddha to life. Take your Buddha home with you at the end of the weekend. Beginner through experienced artists welcome.

Sacred Art Retreat: Carving Buddhist Woodblocks

July 17-21 (check-in is July 16)

Embark on a profound artistic journey with our 5-day Mokuhanga printing workshop for beginners, led by the renowned artist Faith Stone. Immerse yourself in the Japanese Technique of carving and printing woodblocks, specifically focusing on the rich tradition of thangka woodblocks.

Malas, Mantra, and Movement Retreat

September 6-8

A mala is a string of prayer beads commonly used in the practice of japa, or mantra repetition. In this workshop, you’ll learn about mantra and how to work with it, as well as make your own mala to practice with and take home with you. Yoga and Meditation classes complete the experience.

Shoshoni offers a rich meditation practice, wonderful yoga classes, and great vegetarian cuisine. The views are breathtaking and it is incredibly interesting getting to know the staff. Highly recommended!
