Wild Gratitude at Shoshoni

It always feels profoundly like coming home (in the best possible way) when I arrive at Shoshoni. Friday I arrived in time for yoga and a yummy dinner. I enjoy visiting with the Shoshoni staff and work studies, observing and sharing their growth and transformation. I hadn’t been there since New Year’s, there is another cabin being transformed into an eco-cabin, all kinds of wonderful things growing in the greenhouses (including fish, in the new Aquaponics greenhouse). Friday after dinner a deeply wonderful class, then to the Ma Shrine for mantra and tension release (I love the Ma Shrine and do my before bed practice there when I visit Shoshoni).

I woke up Saturday with a feeling I can only describe as wild gratitude. Gratitude for Babaji, the lineage, the sangha, the ashrams and the powerful, magical place that is Shoshoni. And then I got to go to the temple for the Guru Gita which is one of my favorite parts of the day. (I found my connection to this practice at Shoshoni in the temple chanting the Guru Gita.)

All day I was overflowing with gratitude – knowing deeply how truly blessed I am in this life.

Sitting in the sunroom drinking tea, soaking up the spring sun after an Ela Kirhi treatment, I was feeling appreciation for everyone who makes Shoshoni what it is. And I realized that I have a part in that too. Visitors and visiting sangha members also make it what it is.

What a nuturing, nourishing way to be with the transition from winter to spring. In the Sunday morning yoga class at the end of savasana Gayatri suggested that we, like the butterflies, come out of our cocoons and leave them behind. Thank you to whoever cleaned up the cocoons in the yoga mandir, I definitely left mine there. Namaste.

I am writing to let you know what a wonderful experience I had during my stay at Shoshoni. I enjoyed every aspect of my visit - meditation sessions, treatments and classes with your talented practitioners and teachers, the delicious food and beautiful grounds. It's obvious that you work very hard to make sure the guests have a positive experience. I appreciate your dedicated service.
Thanks again and blessings to all of you.

Thank you.
I visited last Saturday and will probably be coming next
summer. I enjoyed my (hatha yoga) classes very much and I extended my stay so that I could attend community night and meet Shambhavananda on Monday night at Eldorado Ashram.

I want to thank you for a splendid retreat. The yagna, the pooja at the Ma Shrine, the yoga, and the delicious food nourished my body, mind, and spirit. My thanks to Sri Shambhavananda whose magnificient creation is Shoshoni. I'll see you all again soon.
Namaste & love,

We had an incredible time with you all and felt so at home! Your kindness was inspiring as well as very internally welcoming! We are definately planning on coming back soon. We will also recommend your services to everyone we know! It was such a peaceful atmosphere at the retreat and very mentally, emotionally, and physically healing. My health therapies were AMAZING! This is just a quick note to tell you all how much my two adult children and I enjoyed our day retreat at Shoshoni -- Everything was absolutely perfect -- great food... and invigorating classes in yoga and breathing. Everyone we encountered was a very special and unique person which is what we so enjoy about our visits. We came home feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Your hospitality was greatly appreciated. I love the CD (Shambhava Kirtan) and am looking forward to cooking something from the cookbook soon.
Thank you so much!

Thank you for the wonderful weekend. The wonderful food, the music, your kindness, the fire, the opportunity to be in Swami's presence... Shoshoni is the palace on the island in the ocean.
