“The Kitchen Goddess” is the third vegetarian cookbook from the kitchen of Shoshoni Yoga Retreat. The recipes are all new, the favorite dishes of our chefs and guests. This book is also dedicated to the Goddess, the feminine aspect of the Divine.

...What is the Work Out: Shoshoni practices and teaches Shambhava yoga, which places importance on the spirituality of yoga as well as the positions and postures. Shoshoni prides itself in using yoga to prepare the body and the mind for meditation. It was easy to get myself in the yoga state of mind at Shoshoni because of its beautiful mountain surroundings...
What's Different: Other than the beautiful scenery that accompanies the Nederland based retreat, the attitude of the instructor was something truly different about the lesson. It was clear that the classes are based on meditation, as opposed to losing weight, or being trendy...
What I loved: Doing something spiritual and relaxing in a beautiful setting made the physical work feel secondary. I especially liked the shava sana at the end of the class. The room, as well as my mind, was silenced. The sounds of wind blowing in the trees and light drizzle on the roof made this part of the experience even more relaxing...
Inspiration: Shoshoni has been a yoga retreat for 24 years, which shows their commitment to yoga and to their students. Ma said that the instructors' meditation leads them to make their students yoga experiences something different and something more personal. I'd have to imagine that the seclusion and beauty of the retreat would be pretty inspiring too...
What other's say: , She said, "The practices the instructors allow us to have tell a really beautiful story of relaxation and balance," said Megan Grace, who is studying at Shoshoni to become a certified instructor...
How I felt after the class: Relaxed and at ease. I also felt proud of myself for completing a long work out...
How I felt later: Energized and excited to incorporate more yoga into my daily routine.
